(c) Dividends in the second quarter of 2013 increased from $0.765 per share to $0.78 per share and dividends in the second quarter of 2012 increased from $0.75 per share to $0.765 per share.
Duke Energy expects to continue its policy of paying regular cash
dividends; however, there is no assurance as to the amount of future dividends
as they depend on future earnings, capital requirements, and financial condition,
and are subject to declaration by the Board of Directors.
Duke Energy’s operating subsidiaries have certain restrictions on their
ability to transfer funds in the form of dividends or loans to Duke Energy. See
Note 4 to the Consolidated Financial Statements, “Regulatory Matters” for
further information regarding these restrictions.
