Item 5. MARKET FOR REGISTRANT'S COMMON EQUITY, RELATED STOCKHOLDER MATTERS AND
ISSUER PURCHASES OF EQUITY SECURITIES
The principal market in which SunTrust common stock is traded
is the NYSE. For the quarterly high and low sales prices of
SunTrust common stock for the last two years, see Table 1 in
Item 7, “MD&A,” which is incorporated herein by reference.
During the year ended December 31, 2015, the Company paid a
quarterly dividend on common stock of $0.20 per common share
for the first quarter and $0.24 per common share for each of the
second, third, and fourth quarters, compared to a quarterly
dividend on common stock of $0.10 per common share for the
first quarter of 2014 and $0.20 per common share for each of the
second, third, and fourth quarters of 2014. SunTrust common
stock was held by 24,285 holders of record at December 31,
2015. See the “Equity Securities” section in this Item 5 for
information on share repurchase activity, announced programs,
and the remaining buy back authority under the announced
programs.

The following graph and table compare the cumulative total
shareholder return on SunTrust common stock compared to the
cumulative total return of the S&P Composite-500 Stock Index
and the S&P Commercial Bank Industry Index for the five years
commencing December 31, 2010 (at market close) and ending
December 31, 2015. The foregoing analysis assumes
simultaneous initial investments of $100 in SunTrust common
stock and in each of the above indices, as well as the reinvestment
of all dividends during the periods presented.
