Dividend Information and Common Stock Performance
MetLife Inc.’s common stock is traded on the New York Stock
Exchange (“NYSE”) under the trading symbol “MET.” MetLife, Inc.
declared an annual dividend of $0.74 per common share on
October 23, 2007 and $0.59 per common share on
October 24, 2006. Future common stock dividend decisions
will be determined by MetLife, Inc.’s Board of Directors after
taking into consideration factors such as MetLife, Inc.’s current
earnings, expected medium- and long-term earnings, financial
condition, regulatory capital position, and applicable
governmental regulations and policies. The payment of
dividends and other distributions to MetLife, Inc. by its
insurance subsidiaries is regulated by insurance laws and
