The net book value of land and buildings and equipment, xtures and ttings includes £48 million and £413 million respectively (2013: £62 million
and £281 million) in relation to assets held under nance leases. Included in the net book value of land and buildings and equipment, xtures
and ttings are assets in the course of construction, which are not depreciated, with a cost of £70 million and £1,617 million respectively
(2013: £19 million and £1,399 million). Property, plant and equipment with a net book value of £1 million (2013: £357 million) has been pledged
as security against borrowings.
