Note 8. Commitments and Contingencies
Lease Commitments
We lease certain of our facilities and related equipment under operating leases that expire at various dates
through 2029. We currently sublease some space under various operating leases that will expire on various dates
through 2016. Some of our leases contain renewal options, escalation clauses, rent concessions, and leasehold
improvement incentives. Rent expense, net was $89 million, $88 million, and $88 million in fiscal 2011, 2010, and
2009, respectively.
