in the schools seldom have chance to see the outside world. The students
have no digital capability and have no chance to improve their schooling via
the digital learning portals prevailing in urban areas. Through the cooperation
with the ASUS Foundation under its refurbished computer digital training plan,
these disadvantaged students have applied distance learning via video on
demand by utilizing refurbished computers. The students will not feel lonely
in the process of learning, as they may learn mathematics and Chinese
language on line through integration of software and hardware resources.
Meanwhile, in order to fulfill the mission for shortening digital gap,
ASUS volunteer workers’ club members started to work with ASUS
Foundation in 2015 to provide digital contents service at the recipients’
premises, in order to communicate heartwarming service and stimulate ASUS
folks’ influence by virtue of the on-site service and to enable ASUS folks to
feel users’ needs, reflects the needs to the product and service design, and
upgrade the easiness and relationship between ASUS products and users.
Meanwhile, in order to enable the recipients to exchange with each other
effectively, the Company sets up a Facebook fan page to share the benefits of
refurbished computers.

(2) Digital opportunity center
Since 2009, the Company has participated in the ADOC 2.0 Project
and worked with Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 7 years, in order to help the
local non-profit-making organizations in ADOC member states and Taiwan’s
diplomatic allies to establish digital learning centers, promote digital learning
to shorten digital gap, shorten the digital gap between countries, cities/villages,
and even age and sex to make the public have more convenient and happier life.
The Project was enforced by the Institute for Information Industry in 2015.
The center, renamed TDOC in 2015, founded digital learning centers in The
Philippines, Indonesia and Myanmar to help the local disadvantaged children
and academic entities to upgrade their digital ability.
Further, the center also worked with the Latin American Division of
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to donate 180 sets of brand new notebook and
200 sets of refurbished computers to the schools in remote areas of Guatemala,
Dominican Republic, Honduras and Ecuador. By virtue of the support from
