Ground Facilities
United is a party to various leases relating to its use of airport landing areas, gates, hangar sites, terminal buildings and other airport facilities in most of the
municipalities it serves. Major terminal facility leases expire at SFO in 2011 and 2013, Washington Dulles in 2014, O'Hare in 2018, LAX in 2021 and Denver in
2025.
The Company owns a 66.5-acre complex in suburban Chicago consisting of more than 1 million square feet of office space for its Operations Center, a
computer operations facility and a training center. United also owns a flight training center, located in Denver, which accommodates 36 flight simulators and
more than 90 computer-based training stations. The Company owns a limited number of other properties, including a crew hotel in Honolulu. All of these
facilities are mortgaged.
