BBVA is a global nancial services group with more than 47 million
customers. The group began its activities in Spain over 150 years ago
and today has branches around the world, including South America,
the United States and China.
During the past seven years, Experian has been working closely
with BBVA to introduce world class risk management processes
across its growing international operations. The three-stage project
focused initially on new applications for credit cards, mortgages and
other loan products, with the introduction of an automated process
for making consistent, objective decisions online. Phase two was
to enhance understanding of existing customers and to take a more
active, risk-based approach to building relationships. Today, a third
phase is underway to improve the management of overdue accounts
through more targeted collections activities.
