2. Market share and market demand, and supply and market growth:
(1) Market demand and supply of computer components:
ASUS produces high-quality, high-performance motherboards for entry-level,
medium- and high-end markets. The company sold 22 million motherboards in 2014.
ASUS motherboards have taken the largest global market share for several years in a
row, largely due to a world-class R&D pipeline, massive production scale, highly
developed upstream/downstream component supply chain, product quality and
production cost controls. All of these factors form a significant competitive
advantage.
The ongoing development of energy-saving technology is a fundamental goal of the
company. ASUS was the first company to develop the Energy Processing Unit (EPU)
control chip that smartly and instantly adjusts power levels as it detects changes in PC
load. Through automatic phase switching between components (including CPU, VGA
Card, memory, chips, hard drive, and fans), the EPU provides adequate power supply
by smart acceleration and overclocking in order to save power and cost.
(2) Market demand and supply of notebooks:
ASUS has been an industry-leading notebook designer and retailer for more than 15
years. According to research conducted by an international market survey institute,
ASUS ranks among the top four Notebook makers and is a consistent innovation
leader, attaining high brand value and consumer recognition. The 2014 research
institute estimates that ASUS will ship 20.3 million notebooks, capturing up to an
estimated 11% of the global market share.
(3) Developing cloud computing market:
In the near term, ASUS will introduce a series of cloud computing-related services
and products designed to provide cloud computing solutions for mobile devices,
multimedia entertainment, and electronic commerce. This solution will embrace the
quality of portability, ease-of-use, connection, and in-depth service, all reinforced to
provide users with information at their fingertips, anywhere and at any time.
Professionals can use cloud computing business tools to explore business
opportunities and upgrade competitiveness, while also sharing rich and diversified
multimedia entertainment with family members.
