for the book to be published. Three thousand copies of the book will be

b. ICT education program after the Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines
In November 2013, super-typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines. The Leyte
Province and Tacloban in central Philippines suffered more than 10,000
casualties. The typhoon was considered the most devastating natural disaster
in the history of the Philippines. In 2014 the ASUS Culture Foundation
cooperated with the local sales team and contributed 40 computers to local
non-profit organizations in the disaster area, to help establish computer
classrooms and promote education in the wake of the disaster.
(3) Cooperation with Ministry of Foreign Affairs
ASUS has worked with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2009. In 2014,
ASUS donated 190 new laptop computers and 190 All-In-One PCs to rural
schools in Guatemala, Dominica Republic, Nicaragua, Honduras, Haiti, El
Salvador and Panama, using the power of government and enterprises to jointly
distribute resources from Taiwan, in an effort to close the digital divide by
helping people in disadvantaged rural areas gain access to digital devices.
(4) ASUS World Citizen/International Volunteer project
In 2014 ASUS and 9 international volunteer teams made up of 115 university
students, advisors and ASUS employees worked as international volunteers in
rural areas of Indonesia, India, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia and Tanzania,
providing short-term IT communication education, Chinese language, ecology
conservation and other teaching services. ASUS offers employees with official
leave to encourage them to participate in such programs. The outcome-sharing
camp, Facebook and volunteer websites distributed photos, video and stories
about the experience. More information is available at

2. Sponsorship and promotion of cultural and artistic academic exchange
ASUS and the ASUS Culture Foundation continue to sponsor artistic and cultural
activities to promote a better quality of life for all people.
(1) MONSTER cheerleading sponsorship
ASUS continues to sponsor the MONSTER cheerleading team by covering
practice site fees for the international and national cheerleading competition, so
players may practice drills in a safe and comfortable environment.
Since 2011, the sport of cheerleading has gradually increased in popularity in
Asia. To provide a safe site and equipment for tumbling practice, ASUS
sponsors the site fees. The sponsorship effectively reduces the risk of accidents,
allowing the group of young students a safe place to practice and improve
techniques. More outstanding players and young students have been invited to
promote the sport and have created remarkable performances year after year,
showing a passion and enthusiasm in cheerleading. The ASUS-sponsored squad
has won the National Cheerleading Competition 10 times in a row. In recent
years, MONSTER has been renowned in international cheerleading circles for its
quality, performance and teaching. Many international cheerleading squads and
fans from England, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore have come to Taiwan to
exchange with MONSTER. Additionally, MONSTER has participated in key
activities and festivals at the ASUS corporate annual party, family day and
charity events, bringing vitality and passion to each activity.
