computing device markets. Continued development of smartphone product lines will be an ongoing focus,
with emphasis placed on product innovation, marketing, and further development of channel partnerships.
In the Internet of Things and cloud computing sectors, ASUS made advances in 2014 by entering the
wearable device market with its beautifully-crafted ZenWatch smartwatch. Fulfilling our cloud solution
strategy, we established cloud services that can be utilized across multiple sectors. In 2014, ASUS also
cooperated with Kaohsiung City Government to construct Taiwan's first comprehensive education-based
cloud platform for the city's 300,000 students and teachers. The Company joined Show Chwan Health
Care System and Chunghwa Telecom Co. to jointly promote the ASUS Cloud Platform for Health in
Palau, which provides local residents with cloud services for use in healthcare.
Operational Outlook
In 2014, ASUS focused on marketing and quality as its two chief operational drivers. In 2015, ASUS will
continue to follow our corporate brand promise and philosophy of In Search of Incredible, as we work to
create engaging new products and continue to leverage word-of-mouth marketing. As the Internet of
Things becomes more mainstream, we expect to win further brand recognition and to increase brand
value as consumers learn more about our tradition of pragmatism and about the quality of our product
lines.
In 2015 the Company will continue to innovate and differentiate devices in our popular laptop product
lines, including ASUS Transformer Book Chi, EeeBook and Chromebook. In our smartphone product
lines, Zenfone 2 and subsequent models will deepen the product concept of empowering luxury for
everyone, allowing all consumers to enjoy the experience of high-quality products and services at
affordable prices. With the Internet increasingly becoming a focus of public life, our marketing channels
will continue to expand communications, delivering effective messaging.
Over the next year, the PC market is expected to become increasingly stable. The high stakes in the tech
industry and the consolidation trend of market share are irreversible, but ASUS will aim to expand the
scope of its operations and improve operational efficiency to remain a strong player in the industry. In the
mobile communications sector, the market space for smartphones remains tremendous. With ASUS’s
innovative products and business model, there will be room to grow and opportunities to reach explosive
growth. To engage in new opportunities across various markets, ASUS is advancing developments in
cloud software, wearable devices, and robotics. We will establish a long-term competitive edge with the
quality of our products.
Despite ongoing and rapid change within the technology industry, the core of the ASUS culture and its
brands remain unchanged. As mobile computing and cloud computing become increasingly important,
ASUS will continue to build on our established strengths of innovation, exceptional management and
brand value. Through the combined efforts of our world-class talent, we will reach our goal of becoming
the most-admired leading enterprise in the new digital era, and we will continue to be recognized as a
