The revaluation of the equity investment in Fiat N etherlands Holding N .V. reflects the partial restoration of its original carrying value after
the writedown recorded in fiscal 2003. This restoration in value was based on the positive operating results reported during the year by its
subsidiaries CN H and Iveco, their favourable operating outlook, and the increase in value of CN H’s stockholders’ equity following recovery
of the dollar in 2005, which is the functional currency used to express most of CN H accounts.
