2014 Financial Highlights (year over year)
Total company revenue increased 3.1% to $22.8 billion, driven by growth of
22.8% in business services, 10.4% in residential high-speed data, and 10.6%
in advertising.
Adjusted OIBDA* was $8.2 billion—up 3.1%. Operating income of $4.6 billion
increased 1.1%.
Adjusted Diluted EPS** grew 14.4% to $7.56. Diluted EPS increased 7.0% to $7.17.
* Adjusted OIBDA as used herein means operating income before depreciation and amortization excluding the impact of
merger-related and restructuring costs.
** Adjusted Diluted EPS as used herein means net income per diluted common share attributable to TWC common shareholders
excluding the impact of merger-related and restructuring costs; changes in the Company’s equity award reimbursement
obligation to Time Warner Inc.; and certain changes to income tax provision; as well as the impact of taxes on the above items.
2014 Operational Highlights
Added 150,000 residential customer relationships and 373,000 residential triple
plays—a dramatic turnaround from the past several years.
Invested $4.1 billion to improve customer experience and expand the network.
Completed the initial rollout of TWC Maxx, including the “all digital” conversion
and delivery of Internet speeds of up to 300 Mbps, in New York City and
Los Angeles—with plans to complete the rollout in Austin and expand to Charlotte,
Dallas, Hawaii, Kansas City, Raleigh, San Antonio and San Diego in 2015.
Deployed more than 8 million new set-top boxes, digital adapters and advanced
modems in customers’ homes.
Expanded our VOD oering to nearly 20,000 choices.
Made our TWC TV® streaming video app available on a variety of devices,
including Apple™ iOS and Android™ tablets and smart phones, Amazon Kindle
Fire™ tablets, Roku™ streaming players, Samsung™ Smart TVs, Xbox 360™ video
game consoles and Fan TV™ streaming players, as well as on PC and Mac™
computers via www.twctv.com.
Added unlimited China and Hong Kong calling to our already unlimited calling
throughout North America.
Expanded WiFi hotspots available to our customers to more than 300,000.
Added nearly 70,000 commercial buildings to our network.
Generated $113 million of political advertising revenue in 2014—essentially
matching our record 2012 performance.
Achieved record on-time performance with technicians arriving at more than
97% of customer appointments within the designated one-hour appointment
window during the fourth quarter.
Reached our milestone to help connect one million young minds to the wonders
of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through our Connect a
Million Minds® (CAMM) initiative, and focused on environmental stewardship.
Earned our ninth Technical Emmy® Award for the work TWC has done to deliver
programming to subscribers anywhere, on any device via products such as our
TWC TV® app.
