Macy Stevens is one amazing young lady – a beautiful, smart, athletic, and well-rounded 11-year old girl from Omaha, Nebraska,
who likes volleyball, watching movies, and peace signs. Macy’s energy is as boundless as her love for her family, which is returned
infinitely in every way from each member of her family, including sisters, Sophie, 6, and Mia, 2. A closer look at Macy and her family
reveals a gratefulness for everyday – and some might say, mundane – activities, like volleyball tryouts, carpools, and simply going to
school. That’s because Macy was born with a heart condition that would require three open-heart surgeries before her second birthday.
Her parents were also told a heart transplant would also be on the horizon one day. “One day” turned out to be December 2, 2008, at
5:53 a.m. – Macys new birthday – when she received a heart transplant and a new opportunity for an active and healthy life. While
the journey has been long and difficult, Jordan and Karen Stevens, Macy’s parents, never once lost sight of their goal of health and
happiness for their daughter and their family. The help and support they received from their large, close-knit family has made a huge
difference, including Aflac sales agent Ginny Daisley, who was with them every step of the way. Macys father said, “The financial
benefits of the Aflac insurance policy have helped pay for so many necessary expenses. Peace of mind has returned to our home.” Peace
indeed has returned to the Stevens’ home, along with a grateful heart.
