Most of our stores are located in leased premises. Individual store leases vary as to their terms,
rental provisions and expiration dates. Many stores are subject to build-to-suit arrangements with
landlords, which typically carry a primary lease term of 10-15 years with multiple renewal options. We
also have stores subject to shorter-term leases and many of these leases have renewal options. In recent
years, an increasing percentage of our new stores have been subject to build-to-suit arrangements,
including approximately 79% of our new stores in 2011.

In addition, we have a distribution center that we recently constructed in Bessemer, Alabama of
approximately 940,000 square feet that became fully operational on March 11, 2012, and leased space
for a distribution center in Lebec, California of approximately 440,000 square feet that is expected to
be operational in April 2012. We lease the distribution centers located in Oklahoma, Mississippi and
Missouri and own the other six distribution centers in the table above. Approximately 7.25 acres of the
land on which our Kentucky distribution center is located is subject to a ground lease. As of
21
