Take Care when Handling Materials that Can
Hurt the Environment
Many materials can have adverse environmental
impacts if mishandled. If your job involves contact
with any regulated materials or requires that you
make decisions about how any materials are used,
stored, transported or disposed of, you need to
understand how they should be legally, responsibly
and safely handled. This will prevent any releases as
part of wastewater, air emissions or uncontained spills.
If you believe that an environmental hazard exists,
that there has been a release of any hazardous
substance or that environmental policies, procedures
or processes are not being followed, you must
immediately report the situation to your manager
or Environmental Management.
