Place Bridge Academy in Denver is one of many Denver Public Schools (DPS) facilities taking advantage of Xcel Energy’s
Solar*Rewards® program, which offers customers incentives to install solar panels for their homes and businesses.
“The Place Bridge Academy solar project is part of an overall renewable energy initiative in DPS,” said Jim Faes, DPS’ director
of sustainability. “DPS now has renewable energy providing 7 percent of the total energy used throughout the district.”
DPS has a good working relationship with Xcel Energy, according to Faes. “We rely on our energy provider in so many ways
but particularly in the areas of energy pricing, dependability, communications, support and assistance in helping us become
more efficient and conservative in our energy use,” he said.
