PINNACLE WEST CAPITAL CORPORATION
APS’s diverse generation fleet had another strong year in 2011. The Palo Verde Nuclear
Generating Station marked its 20th consecutive year as the nation’s largest power
producer, and generated the most megawatt-hours of energy in its history. In addition,
APS’s coal power plants had another year of solid performance. The plants achieved an
80 percent combined net capacity factor, beating the most recent industry average of
67 percent. APS further established its leadership role in the adoption of clean energy.
The company’s generation portfolio now includes 423 megawatts of renewable energy
in operation with more than 500 megawatts under development.
