Joint ventures and associates
For the year ended March 31, 2005, Prudential ICICI Asset Management Company Limited, Prudential ICICI Trust
Limited and TCW/ICICI Investment Partners L,L,C, have been classified under joint ventures and associates whereas
for the year ended March 31, 2004 apart from the entities mentioned above, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company
Limited and ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited were also classified under joint ventures. These
entities have been accounted as “subsidiaries” as defined in AS 21 “Consolidated Financial Statement, in the
current financial year.
7. Earnings per share ("EPS")
The group reports basic and diluted earnings per equity share in accordance with AS 20, "Earnings per Share". Basic
earnings per share is computed by dividing net profit after tax by the weighted average number of equity shares
outstanding during the year. Diluted earnings per share is computed using the weighted average number of equity
shares and dilutive potential equity shares outstanding during the year.
