engines and space rockets with light weight in focus. More than 90% of all
new large commercial aircraft are equipped with engine components from
Volvo Aero. The company is also responsible for the engines of the Swed-
ish Air Force’s Gripen fighters. Volvo Aero also has an aftermarket busi-
ness that comprises repair and maintenance of select aircraft engines as
well as stationary gas turbines.
