Once again, Xcel Energy demonstrated that we
deliver results and are ready for a rapidly changing
energy marketplace. 2014 was another outstanding
year in which we achieved strong nancial and
operational performance and executed well on
our strategies to meet the changing needs of our
customers, position us for success and build value
for you.
We chose Forging Our Path as the theme of this
report to capture the forward-thinking approach that
is our hallmark. Whether it’s building our renewable
energy portfolio, reducing carbon emissions or
advocating for regulatory change to support our
plans for meeting customers’ needs, we are looking
toward the future. Today, we are moving forward
with condence and a focused plan—forging our
path to success.
Delivering strong nancial results
Year after year, we’ve met or exceeded our nancial
targets, and 2014 was no exception. We reported
ongoing earnings of $2.03 per share, compared with
$1.95 per share in 2013, an increase of 4 percent.
Meeting your expectations is important to us, and
I’m proud to say this was the 10th consecutive year
we’ve met or exceeded our earnings guidance and
