HSBC France and subsidiary company plans
When it was acquired in 2000, HSBC France and certain of its subsidiary companies operated employee share option
plans under which options could be granted over their respective shares. No further options will be granted under any
of these subsidiary company plans. The following are details of options to acquire shares in HSBC France and its

HSBC Holdings Employee Benefit Trust 2001 (No. 1) held 21,102,823 HSBC Holdings ordinary shares which may be exchanged for
HSBC France shares arising from the exercise of these options.
