Notes:
(i) Discretionary bonuses paid for the two years ended March 31, 2011 and 2010 represent the amounts in connection with the
performance bonuses for the two years ended March 31, 2010 and 2009 respectively.
(ii) Details of the long-term incentive program of the Company are set out in Note 30(a). The fair value of the employee services
received in exchange for the grant of the long-term incentive awards is recognized as an expense. The total amount to be
amortized over the vesting period is determined by reference to the fair value of the long-term incentive awards at the date of
grant. The amounts disclosed above represent the amortized amounts for the two years ended March 31, 2011 and 2010.
(iii) Mr. William O. Grabe and Professor Woo Chia-Wei have elected to defer their receipts of the cash of director’s fee into fully vested
share units under the long-term incentive program (Note 30(a)) for the year ended March 31, 2010.
(b) Five highest paid individuals
The five individuals whose emoluments were the highest in the Group for the year include two (2010: two) directors
whose emoluments are reflected in the analysis presented above. The emoluments of the remaining three (2010: three)
individuals during the year are as follows:
