2011 was the year that we really began to come together as a
strong, collaborative DineEquity team, by taking substantive
steps toward creating a unified culture and defining what
success looks like at our Company. It started with the
formation of the DineEquity Senior Leadership Team, a group
of the highest ranking 25–30 leaders that share common goals
and values. Together, we invested resources into initiatives that
would strengthen our culture and support organizational
development for every DineEquity team member.
We began by assessing our existing culture and identifying
areas of improvement by conducting our most comprehensive
enterprise-wide Team Member Engagement Survey to date.
This survey included all DineEquity team members — from
management at the restaurant support centers to management
working at company-operated restaurants. From these
findings, we created plans to address key issues and ensure
that every voice counts.
Today, we’re working to enhance internal communication and
collaboration, create opportunities for individual development,
clarify leadership behaviors and foster a culture of accountability,
performance and recognition. We’ve evaluated scores, set a
baseline and begun to implement plans, and while more
remains to be done, we’re excited about our potential. As we
progress, we look forward to engaging with team members
to find new ways to make DineEquity an even better place
to work. Our Company’s success is the direct result of each
individual’s diligence, talent and passion, and we’re working
harder than ever to give each team member opportunities to
make a personal impact.
We’ve named this initiative: “Doing Right. Winning Together.
Because to us, that is what it’s really all about.
OUR DINEEQUITY CULTURE
This year, we laid the foundation for a more
unified culture, where team members can share
opportunities, ideas and goals.
