- Fo Guagn Shan Care for Learning: Donated 430 computers (including 354
rcycled computers) to assist the digital gap reduction project and deliver to
poverty areas in Taiwan:
¾ Helped 300 students with visibility issues to solve inadequacy of school
equipments.
¾ 225 seniors in 8 senior centers can learn to connect with the world via
computer and internet.
¾ 6 study cars touring to Yilan, Jiayi, Pingtung, and Kaohsiung to reduce
urban-suburban gap and to plant learning seeds early.
(2) Overseas
a. ADOC Project: Cooperated with ADOC secretary office to complete picture
competition, charity traveler and assist establishing 6 ADOC digital learning
center, as described below:
- Picture competition: This is the third consecutive year that ASUS has
cooperated with ADOC secretary office for ICT competition to encourage
international exchange of learning experience, technical exchange, and
sharing of digital learning stories between the members of ADOC digital
learning center. The 2010 Blog competition, 2011 photo competition and
2012 picture compettion have been widely supported and recognized by
members. 10 countries and 96 people participated in this activity (Chile,
Peru, Mexico, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia,
Independent State of Papua New Guinea, and Russia). ADOC website
worked with DB ADOC fans to undergo voting and professional judgment
in order to select the 12 teams with the higesst scores for recognition, in
addition to producing 2012 calendars for sharing the digital learning
stories of all countries and to promote digital learning.
- Charity traveler: The Charity Traveler aims to interview from the
perspective of Taiwanese people by selecting the 27 distinctive digital
learning centers from 7 ADOC member states
(Thailand/Malaysia/Indonesia/Philippines/Peru/Vietnam/Russia) having
cooperated with ADOC secretary office in the past 4 years. The FB and
ASUS websites have been used to share the digital learning centers of
non-profit seeking organization in different countries to promote digital
learning success tories for young students in remote or poverty area.
- Cooperation with ASUS campus CEO: selecting 2 campus-CEOs to serve
as young charity journalists and visit ASUS and ADOC digital centers.
The Journalists shall report and share through Facebook and activity
website to immediately share and report the charity digital news, digital
learning stories and films recording activities of in overseas ADOC. The
interview data will be prepared in albums. ASUS sponsors each traveler
with NT50, 000 and one laptop computer, while China Airlines sponsors
for the round-trip ticket.
- Establish digital learning center: 2 in Philippines, 2 in Vietname, and one in
Thailand and one in Peru.
¾ Philippines: 6 digital learning centers have been established as of 2012.
¾ Donated computers in 2009 to assist the government with developing
computer information technology promotion association, Asia Child
Hope and Care Foundation by establishing 4 computer rooms.
¾ Donated in 2012 and cooperated with international volunteer services in
addition to establishing one mobile computer room and one computer
