(V) Fulfillment of social responsibility

1. Promote the implementation of corporate governance
(1) Corporate defines corporate social responsibility policy or system
and review the effect of implementation
(2) Operation of corporate social responsibility full-time (part-time) unit
(3) Corporate arranges business ethics education, training, and

romotion periodically for the directors, supervisors, and
employees; also, it is integrated with employee’s performance
evaluation system for a clear and effective reward and punishment
system.
(1) ASUS has corporate social responsibility policy and guidelines
defined that can be looked up at ASUS corporate sustainability
report and ASUS CSR website at http://csr.asus.com.
(2) ASUS has Corporate Sustainability Office setup to promote
corporate social responsibility

olicy and meet regularly to review
and improve.
(3) ASUS has the Business Ethics & Anti-Bribery Policy defined. In
addition to regular internal education, training, and promotion,
process auditing and promotion is arranged for external suppliers.
To ensure the effectiveness of aforementioned education, training
and promotion, the online course for employee conduct principles
is specified as compulsory and cases violating conduct principles
shall be punished by the company in accordance with the gravity
in addition to putting in announcement.

2. The development of a sustainable environment
(1) ASUS strives to upgrade the effectiveness of resources utilization;
also, uses recycled materials that are friendly to the environment
(2) ASUS establishes adequate environmental management system by
the industrial features
(3) ASUS setups environmental management specialists unit to protect
the environment
(4) ASUS stays alert the impact of climate change on business activities;
also, drafts up energy saving and carbon reduction and greenhouse
gas reduction strategy
(1) To effectively utilize resources and to reduce green-gas emission
during transport, ASUS designs the special structure for

ackage
with patent to reduce the packaging weight, reduce packaging
material volume, in addition to introducing the user of recycled
materials. In the future, ASUS will continue reducing waste,
control the total amount of use for package materials and enhance
packaging universality to introduce sustainable materials.
(2) ASUS had passed ISO14001 Environmental Management System
Certification in 1998 and complied with PDCA annually.
(3) The company offers waste disposal technicians and waste waste
treatment specialists who are responsible for the administration and
declaration of the various wastes and sewage system for the
company.
(4) ASUS has committed to greenhouse gas reduction; also, disclose
greenhouse gas emission information that can be looked up on the
corporate sustainability report and ASUS CSR website.
ASUS products have undergone ecological design to enhance
energy use efficiency for reduction in greenhouse gases. Compared
with 2011, ASUS reduced by approximately 24,000 kWH in 2012,
equivalent to a reduction of carbon emission by 126 tons.
