- Third place for international mixed dual technique in Southeastern Competition
in Singapore
- First place for international mixed four-people team in ICU Asian Competition
in Japan
- Third place for men and women mixed team in ICU World Cheerleading in the
United States
c. Sponsorship to Zhongzhen Senior High School Dance Class: Continue to
sponsor Zhongzhen Dnace Presentation to provide students stage
performance experience through this activity, promote school dance and art
education, in addition to promoting inter-school observation, and to promote
teaching quality and incubate more outstanding artists in the future.
2. Shortening digital divide:
(1) Domestic
a. Recycled computer/reverse logistics project: 1700 recycled computers were
donated in 2012 with awards from the Ministry of Eudcation. This project not
only processed waste computers through reverse logistics but also promote
concept of protecting the earth. On the other ahnd, it helps the promotion of
digital learning to reassemble the components and install legitimate software
to re-give birth to the recycled computers for disadvantaged groups. Students
and residential leanring are also improved. The following is the description:
- Ministry of Education: Asus cooperated with the Continued Education
Division of Ministry of Education by donating 414 recycled computers to 137
senior learning centers and 22 country and city family education centers,
assisting the Ministry of Education with promotion of computer and family
education to disadvantaged seniors. The project was awarded by Ministry of
Education Minister Jiang with appreciation for the promotion and paradigm
for charity.
- Taoyuan County Social Welfare Bureau: Asus cooperated with Taoyuan Social
Welfare Bureau by donating 100 recycled computers to help low-income
households and disadvnated families to reduce digital gap. The project
selected low-income households, low-medium income households and
economically disadvantaged families with emphasis on fifth graders to senior
high school students without computers at home. Under the evaluation of
social workers, a total of 100 housholds are in need. Chung hwa Telecom also
provide preferential internet service to assis the disadvantaged families.
- Fund for Children and Families Digital Project: The project enters its 4th year
and donated 143 recycled computers in 2012. A cumulative 26 service
center received 536 recycled computers, 20 tablet pcs. The project aims to
assist the administrative operations, upgrade of old computers and computer
need for disadvantaged families. ASUS provide donation for recycled
computers for long-term support so that centers can establish multimedia
rooms and hire professionals to help the foster children and youth as well as
drop-out students with use of digital computing to improve their living
quality.
- Chinese Christian Relief Asscoaition Study Plan: Donated 239 recycled
computers to assist the association with study in 78 remote communities by
constructing digital courses and helping students with counseling for
academic work after school as well as computer learning.
