COMPANY STOCK PERFORMANCE
In the past we have presented line graphs comparing the cumulative
total return of our common stock with the cumulative total return
of the Standard & Poor’s Composite500 Stock Index (the “S&P
500 Index) and the companies in Standard Industry Classification
(SIC) Code 7389 that are traded on a major exchange. This year
we have also included a comparison against the Standard & Poor’s
Composite500 Financials Index (the “S&P 500 Financials Index),
an independently prepared index that includes 80 companies in the
financial services industry. Next year we do not intend to include
the cumulative total return of the companies in SIC Code 7389 that
are traded on a major exchange in our comparison. We are changing
to the S&P 500 Financials Index because we believe it to be a more
commonly used index by financial services companies than the
compilation of SIC Code 7389 exchange traded companies.
The following graph shows the five-year comparison of cumulative
total shareholder return, calculated on a dividend reinvested basis,
for (i) our common stock, (ii) the S&P 500 Index, (iii) the 132 compa-
nies in SIC Code 7389 that are traded on a major exchange, and (iv)
the S&P 500 Financials Index. Pursuant to rules of the Securities and
Exchange Commission, the comparison assumes $100 was invested
on December 31, 2008 in our common stock and in each of the indices.
Data points on the graph are annual. Historic stock price performance
is not necessarily indicative of future stock price performance.
