The Electric Car Revolution
Starts Now … Electric cars, with their zero-
carbon footprint, have a bright long-term future.
Short term, the lack of recharging options could
temper early demand for electric cars, and the
absence of strong demand will temporarily impede
the widespread installation of recharging stations.
Hertz has a global partnership with Nissan and
plans to introduce, through Connect by Hertz,
the Leaf all-electric car in North America later
this year and Nissan-owned Renault electric cars
in Europe next year. Car sharing is a great way
to expose consumers to electric cars in urban/
university environments where recharging needs
can be managed most efciently.
