Up to now the Operational
developm ent program has
involved operations in
Sweden. In 1998 pro-
gram s will be started in
both the rest of Europe
and the U.S. Of Volvo’s
72,900 em ployees, 29,250
are working outside
Sweden. Wheel-loaders
and articulated haulers for
the North American mar-
ket are manufactured in
Asheville, North Carolina,
in the U.S.
