Recommerce: The business of buying electronics directly from the consumer,
and subsequently selling the previously purchased merchandise in various
consumer and business-to-business marketplaces.
Since we began the trading and reselling of pre-owned mobile devices in 2011,
this new segment of our business, originally known as recommerce, has grown into a
$184 million mobile business. Based on this success, we converted 334 stores
to the GameStopPlus concept which features an expanded selection of
pre-owned and new mobile devices and related accessories. These stores
have an average of 11 linear feet dedicated to mobile devices which
have delivered a strong increase in sales. Look for more GameStopPlus stores in 2013.
