17. Retirement Plans (Continued)
The estimated net gain and prior service cost for non-U.S. pension benefit plans that will be
amortized from accumulated other comprehensive income into net periodic benefit cost over the next
fiscal year are expected to be $24 million and $3 million, respectively.
The change in benefit obligations, plan assets and the amounts recognized on the Consolidated
Balance Sheets for all U.S. and non-U.S. defined benefit plans at September 26, 2008 and
