William “Billy” Malone Dispatch Manager
Union, NJ
Comcast is deeply rooted in
local communities. We focus
our civic efforts in three areas:
youth leadership, literacy and
volunteerism.
Comcast is a national partner
of City Year, which recruits
young people to give a year to
full-time community service
and leadership development.
In 2006, the company provided
City Year with $1.4 million
in grants and in-kind support.
Comcast’s Leaders and
Achievers® Scholarship Program
recognized 1,728 high school
seniors nationwide. Based on
their community involvement
and academic achievement,
each earned a $1,000 college
scholarship.
Comcast recruited a diverse
group of students to participate
as summer interns through our
ongoing partnership with the
Emma Bowen Foundation. Last
year, we hosted 25 interns who
received funds for college in
addition to their intern stipend.
Since my fi rst day with Comcast 25 years ago, the company
has totally supported my volunteer activities from backing
my involvement in a special-needs camp, to giving me time off
to help out in New York City after 9/11.”
and staying true to who we are.
