How do you meet the
world’s demand for
energy while reducing
emissions?
At Chevron, we are responding on a number of fronts. In order to minimize
greenhouse gas emissions, we have an aggressive effort under way to reduce
flaring and venting in our operations. We support carbon sequestration
research and technology and expect it to be an important part of the Greater
Gorgon Area natural gas development offshore Australia. We continue to
look for ways to use energy more efficiently and to help customers do the
same. And we are forming alliances to advance the commercial feasibility of
biofuels from nonfood sources, including recycled forest products, agricultural
residues, municipal solid waste and new energy crops. These steps will help
curb greenhouse gas emissions while developing the energy the world needs.
