5. SEGMENT INFORMATION
Segment information is presented by way of two segment
formats: (i) on a primary segment reporting basis, by business
segment; and (ii) on a secondary segment reporting basis, by
geographical segment.
Segment information is presented by way of the Groups
primary segment reporting basis, by business segment. In
determining the Groups geographical segments, revenues are
attributed to the segments based on the location of the
customers, and assets are attributed to the segments based
on the location of the assets. No further geographical segment
information is presented as over 90% of the Groups revenue
is derived from customers based in Mainland China, and over
90% of the Groups assets are located in Mainland China.
The Groups operating businesses are structured and managed
separately according to the nature of their operations and the
products and services they provide. Each of the Groups
business segments represents a strategic business unit that
offers products and services which are subject to risks and
returns that are different from those of the other business
segments. Summary details of the business segments are as
follows:
(a) the washing machine business segment manufactures
and sells washing machines;
(b) the water heater business segment manufactures and
sells water heaters;
(c) the mobile handset business segment manufactures and
sells mobile phones and it was discontinued during the
year (note 13); and
(d) the corporate and others segment includes general
corporate income and expense items.
5. 分類資料
分類資料以兩種劃分方式呈列:(i)按業務
劃分之主要分類報告基準;及(ii)按地域
劃分之次要分類報告基準。
分類資料按本集團主要分類報告基準業
務分類呈報。在釐定本集團之地域分類
時,分類應佔收益乃按客戶所在地劃
分,而分類應佔資產則按資產之所在地
劃分。由於本集團90%以上之收益乃衍
生自以中國大陸為基地之客戶,而本集
90%以上資產位於中國大陸,故此並
無呈列按地域劃分之進一步分類資料。
本集團之經營業務乃按其業務以及所提
供產品及服務之性質組織及分開管理,
本集團各個業務分類自成一個策略性業
務單位,所提供產品及服務承受與其他
業務分類不同之風險及享有不同之回
報。業務分類之詳情概述如下:
(a) 洗衣機業務分類製造及銷售洗衣
機;
(b) 熱水器業務分類製造及銷售熱水
器;
(c) 移動手機業務分類製造及銷售移動
電話,並已於年內終止經營(附
13;及
(d) 公司及其他分類包括一般公司收支
項目。
