As at 31 December 2001, HSBC had in-country
foreign currency and cross-border outstandings to
counterparties in Australia of between 0.75% and 1%
of total assets. The aggregate in-country foreign
currency and cross-border outstandings were US$6.0
billion.
As at 31 December 2000, HSBC had in-country
foreign currency and cross-border outstandings to
counterparties in Australia, and Switzerland of
between 0.75% and 1% of total assets. The aggregate
in-country foreign currency and cross-border
outstandings were: Australia: US$6.5 billion; and
Switzerland: US$6.0 billion.
As at 31 December 1999, HSBC had in-country
foreign currency and cross-border outstandings to
counterparties in Australia, Belgium and Switzerland
of between 0.75% and 1% of total assets. The
aggregate in-country foreign currency and cross-
border outstandings were: Australia: US$5.4 billion;
Belgium: US$4.4 billion; and Switzerland: US$4.4
billion.
