THE NEXT CHAPTER
So as we prepare for Avon’s next chapter, we are taking the necessary steps to
strengthen the business for the future and pave the way for a successful CEO
transition. I look forward to continuing to offer my full support to the company,
the leadership team, and the Board.
I will also continue to champion Avon’s philanthropic activities by serving
as a passionate advocate for the Avon Foundation for Women, the world’s
largest corporate philanthropy focused on women’s issues. To date, the Avon
Foundation has donated $860 million in 50 countries to causes that improve
the lives of women. We are very proudly the largest corporate supporter of the
breast cancer cause, and one of the leading proponents in the fight to end
violence against women. We were also recently named one of 25 companies
with the best global corporate reputations.
In closing, I want to express what a deep privilege it has been for me to serve
this great company and its valued stakeholders as CEO for the past 12 years.
I want to acknowledge and offer my heartfelt thanks to everyone on whose
support the company relies, including our millions of Avon Representatives, and
approximately 41,000 Associates around the world. I also want to acknowledge
Avon’s Board of Directors for their ongoing guidance and counsel, and for their
invaluable support to me and the company during this period of transition.
And finally, I would like to acknowledge you, the Avon shareholder. Your needs
and concerns remain central to our thinking and plans. Our goal is to get Avon
back on track as quickly as we can, and we are moving with urgency for the
short, medium and long-terms to restore Avon to sustainable, profitable growth.
