Giving back
WestJet Annual Report 2011 15
We believe in giving back through the WestJetters Caring
for Our Community program. We also support numerous
national charities working with children and youth through
the WestJet Cares for Kids community investment program.
One of those charities, Hope Air, recently celebrated 25 years
of arranging free air transportation for Canadians in need
who require non-emergency medical care outside their
communities. In 15 years of support, WestJet has donated
approximately 7,500 flights to Hope Air.
In
2011
, we also began supporting Beyond Borders, the
Canadian representative of ECPAT International, a global
network working to end the sexual abuse and exploitation
of children everywhere. With gift-of-flight donations and
raising awareness of the causes we support, we hope to
help these organizations continue to make a difference.
We serve more
than 75 destinations,
but we’re really just
one large community.
