Citizenship at P&G
P&G is committed to being a good corporate citizen and always doing the right thing.
We are and want to be known as a company that is governed responsibly and behaves ethically,
that is open and transparent in its business dealings, that supports good causes and protects
the environment, and that provides an appealing place to work where our employees are
treated well and are given the opportunity to be all they can be. By growing our company
responsibly, we earn the trust on which our business is based and we build the relationships
on which our future depends.
We focus our citizenship efforts in five areas: governance, community impact, diversity
and inclusion, environmental sustainability and gender equality.
GOVERNANCE
The foundation for all our citizenship efforts is good governance,
which we define as doing the right thing, improving transparency,
building collaborative partnerships, respecting human and labor
rights and sourcing responsibly.
COMMUNITY IMPACT
We believe deeply in supporting communities around the world
through our people, products and community impact programs.
For example, the P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water (CSDW)
Program has delivered more than 10 billion liters of clean drinking
water, working with more than 150 partners to help people in
more than 85 countries. We also have a robust global disaster
relief program that brings health and hygiene products and the
comforts of home to those who need them most.
DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
P&G is a very diverse company. There are nearly 150 nationalities
represented in our workforce around the world. We have
operations in about 70 countries and we sell our products in
more than 180 countries and territories. The more we mirror
the diversity of our consumers, the better equipped we are to
understand and serve them. We get the full value of our diversity
with a highly inclusive culture. We view diversity and inclusion
as a business strategy and an undeniable way to win.
ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
P&G is focused on driving positive change in the areas of
climate, water and waste. We’ve established our long-term
vision in these areas with short-term goals to ensure we stay
on track. We work hard to offer consumers superior branded
products that require no trade-offs in performance, value
or environmental impact.
GENDER EQUALITY
We want to help build a better world free of gender bias, with
equal representation and an equal voice for women and men.
We are leveraging our insights to uncover gender bias where
it exists, and then we’re taking action to eliminate that bias as
fully as we can. We’re doing this through our brands, with our
corporate voice and with our people.
