(1) Includes severance costs associated with research and development, and general and administrative functions, and certain
other facility related costs.
(2) Accrued restructuring at May 31, 2008, May 31, 2007 and May 31, 2006 was $568 million, $459 million, and $685 million,
respectively. The balances at May 31, 2008, May 31, 2007 and May 31, 2006 include $308 million, $201 million and
$412 million recorded in accrued restructuring, current, respectively, and $260 million, $258 million and $273 million
recorded in accrued restructuring, non-current, respectively.
(3) Costs associated with initial restructuring plan.
(4) Hyperion plan adjustments in fiscal 2008 and Siebel plan adjustments in fiscal 2007 and fiscal 2006 relate to changes in
estimates within the purchase price allocation period (offset recorded to goodwill). All other plan adjustments are changes in
estimates whereby increases are recorded to operating expenses in the period of adjustment with decreases to Oracle-based
plans recorded to operating expenses and decreases to acquisition related plans recorded as an adjustment to goodwill
indefinitely.
(5) Represents foreign currency translation adjustments and certain other non-cash settlements.
