The Board of Directors of the Corporation and the Board of Trustees of the Trust are currently comprised
of 10 members, each of whom is elected for a three-year term. The following table sets forth, for each of the

Thomas O. Ryder (59) ÏÏÏÏÏÏÏÏ Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive OÇcer Director and
of The Reader's Digest Association, Inc. since April Trustee since
1998. Mr. Ryder was President, American Express April 2001
Travel Related Services International, a division of
American Express Company, which provides travel,
Ñnancial and network services, from October 1995 to
April 1998. He is a director of Amazon.com, Inc.
Barry S. Sternlicht (43)ÏÏÏÏÏÏÏÏ Chairman and Chief Executive OÇcer of the
Company since September 1997 and January 1999,
respectively. Mr. Sternlicht has served as Chairman
and Chief Executive OÇcer of the Trust since
January 1995. Mr. Sternlicht also has been the
President and Chief Executive OÇcer of Starwood
Capital (and its predecessor entities) since its
formation in 1991. Mr. Sternlicht was Chief
Executive OÇcer of iStar Financial, Inc. (""iStar''), a
publicly-held real estate investment Ñrm, from
September 1996 to November 1997 and served as the
Chairman of the Board of Directors of iStar from
September 1996 to April 2000.
