Fixed Rates. “We live off the beaten path, so credit cards are a real lifeline for us,” says Barbara, who is
executive director of Historic Rugby, a restored Victorian village that draws 60,000 visitors a year. Her husband,
John Gilliat, is Rugby’s property director. “Capital One is a partner we know we can count on. It is the only
credit card company we’ve dealt with in a long time that hasn’t thrown us any curves, like rate increases or
unexpected fees.”
