Corporate Social Responsibility
At Hasbro, doing well by doing right has helped make us
the global leader we are today, and continues to ignite
our creativity, growth and success. We embrace the
responsibilities and opportunities that come with entertaining
and bringing smiles to millions of children and families
and employing thousands of people. Our commitment
to corporate social responsibility is demonstrated by our
recognized leadership in product safety, manufacturing
ethics, environmental stewardship and community.
For example, we are proud of our reputation as stewards
for product safety standards and design; we endeavor
to integrate safety into our design process, and internal
experts apply a rigorous process in reviewing our products
from their concept stage until they reach consumers
hands. Additionally, we champion fair treatment and
safe conditions for everyone on behalf of Hasbro.
In terms of environmental stewardship, in 2010, Hasbro
became the fi rst major toy company to announce that it will replace
wire ties in all packaging in 2011 with more sustainable materials,
such as paper rattan and string. We also set a goal that at least 75%
of our paper packaging in 2011 will be made from recycled
material or sources that practice sustainable forest management.
Through our charitable giving programs, Hasbro helped
bring “the Sparkle of Hope, the Joy of Play and the Power of
Service” to nearly four million needy children worldwide. In
addition to local community support, strategic partnerships
with ten organizations helped us make a di erence for children
on a national and global scale. In 2010, Hasbro launched
a global youth service organization, generationOn, in
partnership with Points of Light, to empower and inspire kids
to give back. In less than a year, generationOn has already
engaged more than two million young people worldwide.
We encourage you to remain up to date on these important
initiatives in the corporate information section of our website at
www.hasbro.com/corporate/corporate-social-responsibility.
