WeprovidescheduledairtransportationforpassengersandcargothroughouttheUnitedStates("U.S.")andaroundtheworld.Ourglobalroutenetworkgives
usapresenceineverymajordomesticandinternationalmarket.Ourroutenetworkiscenteredaroundasystemofhub,internationalgatewayandkeyairportsthat
weoperateinAmsterdam,Atlanta,Boston,Detroit,London-Heathrow,LosAngeles,Minneapolis-St.Paul,NewYork-LaGuardia,NewYork-JFK,Paris-Charles
deGaulle,SaltLakeCity,SeattleandTokyo-Narita.Eachoftheseoperationsincludesflightsthatgatheranddistributetrafficfrommarketsinthegeographic
regionsurroundingthehuborgatewaytodomesticandinternationalcitiesandtootherhubsorgateways.Ournetworkissupportedbyafleetofaircraftthatis
variedinsizeandcapabilities,givingusflexibilitytoadjustaircrafttothenetwork.
Otherimportantcharacteristicsofourroutenetworkinclude:
• ourinternationaljointventures,particularlyourtransatlanticjointventurewithAirFrance-KLMandAlitaliaaswellasourjointventurewithVirgin
Atlantic;
• ourallianceswithotherforeignairlines,includingAeroméxico,GOLandChinaEasternandourmembershipinSkyTeam,aglobalairlinealliance;
and
• agreementswithmultipledomesticregionalcarriers,whichoperateasDeltaConnection®.

International Alliances
Ourinternationalalliancerelationshipswithforeigncarriersareanimportantpartofourbusinessastheyimproveouraccesstointernationalmarketsand
enableustomarketgloballyintegratedairtransportationservices.Ingeneral,thesearrangementsincludereciprocalcodesharingandfrequentflyerprogram
participationandairportloungeaccessarrangements,andwithsomecarriersmayalsoincludejointsalesandmarketingcoordination,co-locationofairport
facilitiesandothercommercialcooperationarrangements.Thesealliancesalsomaypresentopportunitiesinotherareas,suchasairportgroundhandling
arrangements,aircraftmaintenanceinsourcingandjointprocurement.
JointVentureAgreements.Wecurrentlyoperatethreejointventureswithforeigncarriers.Thesearrangements,forwhichwehavereceivedantitrustimmunity
fromtheU.S.DepartmentofTransportation("DOT"),provideforjointcommercialcooperationwithourpartnerswithinthegeographicscopeofthose
arrangements,includingthesharingofrevenuesand/orprofitsandlossesgeneratedbythepartiesonthejointventureroutes,aswellasjointmarketingandsales,
coordinatedpricingandrevenuemanagement,networkplanningandschedulingandothercoordinatedactivitieswithrespecttotheparties'operationsonjoint
ventureroutes.Thethreejointventuresare:
• AtransatlanticjointventurewithAirFranceandKLM,bothofwhicharesubsidiariesofthesameholdingcompany,andAlitalia,whichgenerally
coversroutesbetweenNorthAmericaandEurope.
• AtransatlanticjointventurewithVirginAtlanticAirwayswithrespecttooperationsonnon-stoproutesbetweentheUnitedKingdomandNorth
America.Inadditiontothejointventure,weownanon-controlling49%equitystakeinVirginAtlanticLimited,theparentcompanyofVirgin
AtlanticAirways.
• AtranspacificjointventurewithVirginAustraliaAirlinesanditsaffiliatedcarrierswithrespecttooperationsontranspacificroutesbetweenNorth
AmericaandAustralia/NewZealand.
