The change in the line item Interest and
currency derivatives relates primarily to changed
exchange rate parities with the US dollar and the
Investment funds include euro 10 million (2006:
euro 2 million) assigned as collateral to Deutsche
Treuinvest Stiftung, Frankfurt am Main, to secure
obligations relating to pre-retirement part-time work
arrangements. Fixed income securities include
euro 77 million (2006: euro 64 million) assigned as
British pound as well as to the changed interest rate
structure.
Marketable securities and investment funds relate
to available-for-sale financial assets and comprise:
collateral to Deutsche Treuinvest Stiftung, Frankfurt
am Main, for the same reason.
