Significant strides were made in 2010 to strengthen our position in the marketplace by offering
a broader range of athletic footwear and apparel from the leading athletic brands. We
introduced a better presentation of athletic footwear, including new, exciting assortments of
marquee basketball, technical and light-weight running, casual and training shoes. Our new
introductions of athletic footwear, combined with improved assortments of athletic apparel,
provide multiple pillars of support for our business.
We also developed new marketing programs with the goal of better reaching and
communicating to the consumer the strengths of each of our brand banners -- Foot Locker,
Lady Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Footaction, Champs Sports, Eastbay and CCS. The
combination of enhanced marketing programs and new merchandising programs allowed us to
clarify our brand banners and better differentiate our stores from one another to reach a larger
customer base. Our plan is to capitalize on the progress we made last year by continuing to
improve our merchandise assortments and invest in new marketing initiatives that reinforce for
the consumer the distinctive and highly-compelling offerings of our various brand banners.
