Principal Occupation: President and Chief Executive Officer of Dynamex, Inc., a leading provider
of same-day transportation and logistics services in the United States and
Canada.
Experience: Mr. Welch was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Yellow
Transportation, an international transportation services provider, from which
he retired after 29 years of service.
Mr. Welch has over 30 years of senior executive experience in the
transportation sector, including valuable experience in the leadership of
large and varied groups. That experience includes extensive experience
working with organized labor groups, including unions. Mr. Welch’s insights
have been particularly valuable to the Board as the Company has addressed
labor and related issues arising in the operation of SkyWest Airlines and
Atlantic Southeast, as well as issues associated with the acquisition and
integration of ExpressJet. Mr. Welch also contributes to the Board valuable
practical experience in the operation of a large enterprise, as well as the
perspective of a successful entrepreneur.
Other Directorships: Mr. Welch serves as a director for Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a supplier of
commercial airplane assemblies and components, and Roadrunner
Transportation Services, a transportation services provider.
