Other assets as of December 31, 2003 and 2002 consist of the following :
11. SHORT-TERM BORROWINGS :
Short-term borrowings as of December 31, 2003 and 2002 amount to ￦789,942 million (US$659,494 thousand) and ￦41,299 million
(US$34,479 thousand), respectively, and consist of bank loans and commercial papers with annual interest rate ranging from 0.34 percent to
4.63 percent. These borrowings are secured by certain bank deposits, investment securities and property, plant and equipment (See Notes 4, 5
and 7).
