In 2014, a downturn in the global economy caused reduced consumer spending,
leading to a sluggish automotive market. However, due to its global competitiveness
resulting from superior quality and design, Kia Motors maintained its recent growth
momentum. Sales from domestic and overseas plants increased by 6.8% and 8.6%,
respectively, while annual sales exceeded 3 million units for the rst time in our history,
recording year-on-year sales growth of 7.6%. Kia Motors will continue to strengthen its
global management through diversied efforts in overseas markets. This includes the
construction of a new plant in Mexico, which is to be completed by 2016.
