Quality Management
Soul EV: Winner at the Canadian Car
of the Year Awards
The Soul EV was named the “Best New City Car” at the 2015
Canadian Car of the Year Awards in recognition of its excellent
marketability. The Awards are based on voting by the Automobile
Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC), the largest group of
inuential Canadian automotive journalists. AJAC journalists gather
for “TestFest”, a ve-day test-drive evaluation of brand-new or
signicantly changed vehicle models. They focus on criteria such as
style, quality, performance, fuel efciency, and safety in 15 vehicle
categories. The Soul EV also won the “2015 Car of the Year” title in
Norway. With these designations, sales of the Soul are expected to
continue to increase.
Sportage: Top ranking in China’s Sales Satisfaction Index
(SSI) Study by J.D. Power
The Sportage and Cerato (Forte) ranked highest in the midsize
SUV and midsize segments, respectively, in the 2014 China
Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) by J.D. Power and Associates.
The study ranked 155 models from 55 different brands sold in
China. Kia Motors ranked 7th overall, rising 13 positions from the
previous year. These outstanding results can be attributed to our
ongoing development of strategic models specically targeted at
the Chinese market. We will sustain these results by continuously
providing high quality vehicles to the Chinese market.
Kia Motors proved its world-class quality with its 3rd
place position, its highest-ever ranking, among 20 non-
premium brands in the 2014 Initial Quality Study (IQS)
by J.D. Power and Associates. The study examined
owner-reported problems in the first 90 days of new-
vehicle ownership to rank the level of dependability of
the vehicles according to customers. The Sportage and
Cadenza (K7) were the winners of the subcompact SUV
and large car segments, respectively. The Sportage topped
its category for two consecutive years. This success is
a result of concerted efforts to upgrade quality while
continuously analyzing the market environment.
Third place in Initial Quality Study by
J.D. Power
Kia Motors has raised its brand value through design management
and marketing strategies based on preemptive and continuous
quality management. We recognize that providing quality products
is essential for customer satisfaction. Our quality management
performance has resulted in a variety of awards as well as high
rankings in quality survey results by various rating agencies.
